The Eclipse Foundation is proud to announce the availability of the Mars release, the annual Eclipse release train. This is the tenth year the Eclipse community has shipped a coordinated release of multiple Eclipse projects. The Mars release represents the work of 79 different open source projects, 65 million lines of code and involved 380 Eclipse committers.

What do you do?
I work as a software developer at Obeo. In my daily work, I mainly focus on the development of modeling tools with Sirius like UML Designer. I am also involved in several research projects to work on the future of modeling tools, such as the Gemoc project.
Finally, I participate in conferences and recently started publishing blog posts to promote Sirius and other tools we are developing at Obeo.

In the context of the MERgE Platform, we speak a lot about the versatility of the framework. We are applying it to System Modelling, and Specialty Engineering Modelling, such as Safety and Security. But modelling is a formal abstraction of a reality, so the approach is not limited to the software domain, or even Information Technology.

Embedded World is only a few weeks away, and I'm getting really excited about it. For the first time, the Eclipse Foundation, together with its partners and working groups, will have a presence at the conference. From February 26 - 28 we will be present in in Nuremberg at one of the biggest embedded conferences in the world!
