It’s time to take stock of this 2016 modeling ‘almost past year’. At Obeo, we believe that modeling is the right way to help IT and industry engineers collaborate efficiently on the design of their smart products. Our innovative approach consists of building specific modeling tools that completely suit users' business domains. Modeling is a means to an end: by using modeling technologies we make sure that such a tool can be defined faster, as well as deployed and maintained better. To achieve this goal, we develop highly customizable open source software, such as Eclipse Sirius. We consider that a modeling tool must be adaptable, flexible, and user-friendly. This year again, we worked hard to focus on that!   Read More on Cédric Brun's blog...

SiriusCon Paris 2016 is over… and yes we know, it’s sad! During months, we were focusing on November 15th. For both technical and organization teams, it was one of our main 2016 targets. But we all know how it deals when such a long-awaited event finally happens: it always goes too quickly! SiriusCon 2016 didn’t escape this rule! As well as the first one was, this second edition of SiriusCon Paris is considered as a great success. Thank for all! This year, more than 100 attendees coming from almost 10 different countries participated to the international conference on graphical modeling. If that is not THE evidence that SiriusCon is a worldwide event! Again, we hope you appreciated as we did the fact that SiriusCon is made for both beginner and advanced users. SiriusCon’s program has been thought as a whole day dedicated to graphical modeling: case studies, technical sessions, hands-on and tutorials, Sirius Clinic... Everything was made to ensure you spent a nice but intensive d...

When an Eclipse Conference is over, we usually fall into a nostalgic mood. Whatever it deals with EclipseCon North America, France, or Europe, each edition leaves us with that blues feeling. (Or better we say ‘sadness’ after having read one of the last Melanie’s Bats blog post.) Last EclipseCon Europe may have reached a new level… Indeed, it will make a deep impression with a record attendance (619 attendees). So, if someone was still wondering: yes, the Eclipse community is enthusiast and like to meet! To be more precise, there are several Eclipse communities, and at Obeo, we are deeply involved in the modeling one. From Obeo’s point of view, and just as our CTO Cédric Brun said: “Eclipse is way more than just the Eclipse IDE”. This year, our busy schedule at Ludwigsburg was all about graphical modeling (and we were really busy with 1 workshop, 4 talks, an IoT playground activity, and a booth). And we came back really happy from ECon EU since you were several with positive feedback ...

Many experts, including from the Academic community, met at this occasion. Frédéric Madiot and Cédric Brun were among the attendees of this 2016 edition. Several Obeo's key moments: A tutorial during which attendees have discovered how to create a graphical modeling workbench dedicated to their domain thanks to the Eclipse technologies including Ecore Tools, Eclipse Sirius, Acceleo and Xtext… Obeo also shared its experience at the Modeling Clinic And we organized a little surprise during the Welcome Reception with robots fights using Sirius!
